As an Associate at Article One, Claire supports the business and human rights, responsible innovation, and sustainability teams. From the EMEA office in Dublin, she works across sectors, bringing her skills in research and background in law to deliver on our clients’ varied projects.

Claire completed her Juris Doctor at New England Law | Boston, where she focused on human rights law. During law school, as a researcher and supervisor of the Operational-level Grievance Mechanism Research Project at the Center for International Law and Policy, she conducted research on company grievance mechanisms across sectors. During her Master of Laws in Public International Law at Leiden Law School, Claire wrote her thesis on proposing new standard procedures for company operational-level grievance mechanisms to meet the UNGP’s effectiveness criteria. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology with a minor in Statistics from University College Utrecht.

Previously, Claire worked as a Legal Intern at FrieslandCampina in the Netherlands, where she supported their human rights work. She also worked as a Junior Research Associate with the Public International Law and Policy Group where she conducted research for the Virtual Human Rights Lawyer Project and published blog posts concerning the work of the International Criminal Court for the Lawyering Justice Blog. Claire is an attorney licensed to practice law in Massachusetts in the US. She is a native English speaker and is fluent in German.
