As a Senior Associate at Article One, Lara supports our work in business and human rights, responsible supply chains, and regulatory alignment.

A regulatory lawyer by training, Lara spent several years working at law firms in Washington, D.C., where she advised clients on how to integrate international human rights considerations into their businesses. She has experience conducting investigations into alleged violations of U.S. law,  conducting risk assessments, developing compliance programs for companies in various industry sectors. Most recently, she advised companies on supply chain transparency and traceability requirements under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), and supported clients in mapping supply chains to assess and mitigate human rights risks.

Her recent work at Article One includes conducting regulatory gap analyses to assess how companies’ management systems align with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and emerging regulatory frameworks such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Lara holds a Bachelor’s from the University of Pennsylvania and received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she graduated with a Certificate in International Law and a Certificate in Public Interest and Social Justice. She is fluent in Spanish and French.
