Dr. Paula Williams serves as an Associate Director for advisory services at Article One, where she leads consulting projects focused on human rights and environmental, supply chain due diligence. With extensive industry experience, and a technical engineering background, Paula offers a comprehensive and practical understanding of core human rights and environmental themes across diverse sectors and geographies.
Before joining Article One, Paula managed Intel’s global human rights program, overseeing strategy, policy, governance, and communications for the multinational enterprise’s extensive manufacturing footprint and complex value chain. Her efforts ensured company practices were aligned with emerging legislative requirements; including CSRD, CSDDD, The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, UFLPA, UK Modern Slavery Act, California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the Canadian Fighting Forced and Child Labor in Supply Chains Act. Paula drove key initiatives such as Intel’s human rights impact assessment and CSRD double materiality evaluation. Her expertise extends to ESG disclosures and reporting.
Paula’s background includes roles in environmental policy, government affairs, and community engagement, alongside earlier experience as a project and process engineer. Her professional interests span supply chain responsibility, labor rights, regulatory alignment, responsible AI, and just transition.
Paula is a creative problem solver who leverages her experience to develop pragmatic, sustainable solutions to complex issues, she holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Queen’s University Belfast and a Bachelor of Science from University College Dublin.
